Persian Kirman Carpet, circa, 1850.  Probably from Ravar or Laver in South Central Persia. I am currently having the text translated. It is pre-trade and therefore not made for the European or American markets. Probably made by a young woman for her wedding day.  A very personal  story in this carpet.  It is being cleaned and restored.  Price upon request.

Laver Kirman Persian Carpet

SKU: 001
  • In the carpet trade there has long been a tradition that the best Kirman carpets are those from the town of Ravar, or Laver, as it is erroneously and more commonly known. They are woven in all sizes but dimensions of 4' by 6' and 5' by 7' being most common and probably the one eliciting the most exquisite workmanship.  The dyes of Kirman are probably the most varied and imaginative in all of Persia. While individual rugs of other cities in Persia might be very appealing, the Kirman's general level of excellence has been unapproached.
